HARRY POTTER – is a series of seven fantasy novels written by British author J.K. Rowling. The novels chronicle the lives of a young wizard, Harry Potter, and his friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, all of whom are students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. (1.2)

HARVARD – Harvard University is a private Ivy League research university in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Established in 1636 and named for its first benefactor, clergyman John Harvard, Harvard is the oldest institution of higher learning in the United States and among the most prestigious in the world. HEARTLAND BY GEORGE STRAIT – a song written by Steve Dorff and John Bettis and recorded by American country music artist George Strait. Released in January 1993. (1.1)


HECTIC – adjective; characterized by activity, excitement, or confusion. (1.2)


HERMAN MELVILLE – was an American novelist, short story writer, and poet of the American Renaissance period. Among his best-known works are Moby Dick, Typee, a romanticized account of his experiences in Polynesia, and Billy Budd, Sailor, a posthumously published novella. (1.1)


HONDA – a Japanese public multinational conglomerate corporation primarily known as a manufacturer of automobiles, motorcycles, and power equipment. Hondas are well-known for being cheap to run and with low repair costs. Given how expensive Rory’s school is, Rory’s “running costs” are not really that low. (1.2)


HONORÉ DE BALZAC – a French novelist and playwright whose works were beloved by Dostoevsky. One of the founders of literary realism in Europe, Balzac is most famous for La Comédie humaine (“The Human Comedy”), a series of more than 90 interlinked novels, stories, and essays depicting French society in the 19th century. It presents a panorama of post-Napoleonic French life. It is generally viewed as his magnum opus. (1.2)


HUCKLEBERRY FINN – a fictional character created by Mark Twain who first appeared in the book The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1876) and is the protagonist and narrator of its sequel, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1884). (1.1)
